Breakfast
Toast on a Skillet or Griddle

Golden, crispy toast cooked to perfection on a hot skillet — simple, fast, and delicious to add to any meal or campsite breakfast.
INGREDIENTS
Sliced bread (any type)
Butter, ghee, or oil
Optional; Cinnamon-sugar mix. (2 tbsp sugar & 1 tsp ground cinnamon)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the skillet or griddle:
Place it on medium heat.
Let it warm up for about 2–3 minutes. You can sprinkle a drop of water — it should sizzle lightly.
Optional – Lightly butter the bread:
Spread a thin layer of butter on one or both sides of each slice.
For crispier toast, butter both sides.
Place bread on the skillet:
Lay the slices flat on the hot surface. Don’t overcrowd — leave space for even toasting.
For faster cooking, cover the skillet with a lid to trap heat.
Toast each side:
Cook for about 1½ to 3 minutes per side.
Press lightly with a spatula for more even browning.
Flip when the underside is golden brown.
Once both sides are toasted to your liking, remove from heat.
Optional Variation: Cinnamon-Sugar Skillet Toast
Additional Steps:
Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl if needed.
Butter one side of each slice of bread and sprinkle generously with the cinnamon-sugar mix.
Place bread buttered-side down on the skillet.
Cook for 2–3 minutes, until golden and caramelized. Optional: briefly warm the other side.
SERVE with your favorite toppings.
