This experience is designed for fathers and sons to unplug, learn together, and enjoy time outdoors in a supportive, fully guided setting. Whether it’s your first camping trip together or a chance to build on past experiences, this retreat focuses on shared learning, teamwork, and meaningful time in nature—without the stress of planning or logistics. Suggested for boys ages 8–16.

During the retreat, participants will gain hands-on experience with:

• Camp setup and breakdown

• Outdoor cooking and camp kitchen basics

• Fire building and campfire safety

• Leave No Trace principles

• Wildlife viewing and nature awareness

There’s also plenty of time for exploring the forest, relaxing at camp, and enjoying evenings around the campfire. Activities are guided and flexible, with participation encouraged at a comfortable pace for both adults and youth.

Participants book as father-and-son pairs. Accommodations may include shared tents, helping keep the experience simple, practical, and focused on spending time together.

As with all AZ Places trips, all major camping gear, meals, and on-site guidance are provided, allowing participants to focus on the experience while we handle the setup, planning, and cleanup.
