Mid February to Late April
May & June
July - September
The heaviest rain falls during the summer thunderstorm (monsoon) season. During this period, rain can accumulate very quickly, resulting in flooded roads or washes and flash floods. Most of the severe weather in Arizona is caused by microbursts, causing very strong, straight-line winds. These winds are commonly as strong as 40 to 60 miles per hour but can exceed 100 at times. Microbursts occur over a rather small space-scale, and typically the area affected is less than 2.5 miles in diameter.
October - Mid December
During winter in southern Arizona you may experience temperatures from 19°F in early morning to 80°F at the end of the day, probably not on the same day. However, 32° in the morning and 70° in the late afternoon is not unheard of. From late December through February you may experience rain and on occasion you a good windy storm.
AZ Places provides everything needed from the location, food, activities, equipment for the base camp, kitchen, tents, sleeping bags, bathroom and more; all available for your use. A camp host is also included at your camp location to provided and assist.
