The campground operates seasonally between May and October with a 14-day stay limit. From Phoenix: Take US-60 East through Globe and Show Low. Continue on US-60 to Springerville/Eagar. From Eagar, head south on US-191 approximately 26 miles toward Alpine. Watch for the signed turnoff to West Fork / Three Forks on the right (west) side of US-191. Follow the forest road west to the campground along the West Fork of the Black River. GPS: 33°47'22.5"N 109°24'39.7"W
From Alpine: Head south on US-191 approximately 8 miles. Watch for the Three Forks / West Fork turnoff on the right (west) side of the highway. The road is dirt — high clearance recommended.
Note: The campground is open May through October. Road access may be muddy or closed during and after monsoon rains. Check conditions with the Alpine Ranger District before making the drive: (928) 339-5000.
